Charles' background and philosophy combine to create a very unique approach to landscape design and client relations. A Charles Hodges Garden is a unique and seamless integration of both the home and its occupants with the outside world. Every element of a Hodges Garden reflects painstaking attention to detail. Charles utilizes many indigenous plants and materials in his designs and brilliantly couples the natural with the architectural. Each project contains traditional elements applied in distinctive and creative ways. The Southeastern Flower Show has recognized Charles' uncanny ability to creatively blend tradition and innovation with two consecutive "Best In Show" awards and the Smithsonian Garden requested permission to duplicate one of his many original water features.

Charles Hodges is a native son to Georgia and his fascination with the natural world began early on in South Georgia. Charles' childhood memories abound with memories of beloved summer camps, backpacking adventures, and outdoor activity, so it was no great surprise when he sought a career which affords daily interaction with nature. Before starting his own landscaping business, Charles obtained a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from The University of Georgia, interned at the prestigious Mt. Cuba Center in Delaware, and acted as General Manager for a large landscaping and maintenance firm. Fueled by passion, Charles took his substantial education and experience and formed his own company over thirty years ago.

Thirty years ago, Charles Hodges went into business to make the world a more beautiful place and redefine the landscaping industry. Fueled by education, experience, and passion, Charles Hodges Ltd., Gardens is a breath of fresh air and a step away from the redundant textbook designs of impersonal landscaping conglomerates.
